As you know, one of the biggest
challenges that we face here at CASA is in recruiting more caring, committed
volunteers such as you. This month, Keller Williams (Denver Central Office) has
offered to support us in our recruitment efforts by designating an entire day to
help us canvas the community with CASA Brochures and Posters. By getting
additional brochures and posters out into the community we increase our
visibility and highlight our need for volunteers. In the past, our small
canvassing efforts have helped us connect with many new volunteers. Canvassing
is an extremely effective tool in our recruitment
efforts.
So here is the deal... each year
Keller Williams hosts a RED Day. RED (Renew, Energize and
Donate) Day is a Keller Williams Realty service
initiative dedicated to improving our local communities. Keller Williams Realty
associates in the US and Canada
will donate their time on May 13, 2010 to renewing and energizing aspects of
their local communities. Since the Keller Williams Metro Denver office has
selected us (CASA Programs of the Metro Area) as their charity partner this
year, they are going to enlist approximately 75 agents to help us hit the
streets on May 13th spreading the word about our need for
volunteers and support.
We are thrilled to
partner with them on their RED Day. Therefore, we have committed to matching
the number of volunteers that they will have out on the streets that day with an
equal number of volunteers from our programs. The idea is that we will ALL be
out together that day spreading the word about CASA in the Denver Metro Area!
They are planning on providing each of us with a RED Day t-shirt and are
organizing breakfast and lunch for all volunteers at Govnr's Park Restaurant and Tavern. We will have a kick off
at 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 13th, then break into canvassing teams that will
spread out in the community distributing our posters and brochures and then
end with a celebration at Govnr's Park Restaurant and Tavern. Miss Colorado International has even agreed to help us spread the word and one lucky group will have her by their side spreading the word! Imagine the impact that 150 people can make in just 4 hours!!
We need to gather names of those of you who are interested to make sure that we have enough t-shirts!
