I have been a CASA for approximately 10 years. Over that period of time, the CASA program has grown greatly and continues to successfully serve more and more Colorado children.
The support that each CASA receives, while working a case, is consistent, comforting and instrumental to overall success. Each obstacle and hesitancy has been met by open, thorough and supportive assistance from my Case Coordinator. If at any time I felt uncertain or lacking in confidence, my Case Coordinator has been there to help me and whatever capacity is necessary.
Sometimes people ask me, “How can you do this work that is so difficult and that involves such sadness?” My answer is always the same. I know what a difference I am making in a child’s life, and that knowledge replaces my fear and insecurity.
