This August 10th, for the ninth year in a row, Elizabeth will be the site of an exciting Wild West-style event to benefit abused and neglected children, the foster families that care for them, and children of all ages from nearby communities. The event, called Home on the Range, runs from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 10th at Casey Jones Park in Elizabeth. Thanks to the generous support of event sponsor, Town & Country Foods, admission is free and includes complimentary food, drink, and traditional rodeo treats like cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn. To reach Casey Jones Park, take Parker Road south. Turn left on HWY 86. About nine miles down HWY 86, turn left into Casey Jones Park. Proceeds of the event benefit Advocates for Children.
Also part of the event is the Saturday, August 9 Benefit Team Roping at Casey Jones Park, followed by a Bar-be-cue and an Auction starting at 5:00 p.m. Over 75 items will be offered, including such enticements as: fine art, jewelry, health and beauty, dining certificates, sports collectibles, farm equipment, designer evening gowns . . . and much, much more.
