Twenty- and thirty-somethings will have the chance to change the lives of children for the better at the first annual “Creative for Kids” Art Auction at the Walnut Room, 3131 Walnut Street, in Denver, on May 17th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring the music of the Taylor Project and the creative works of local and national artists. Sponsored by the Young Philanthropist Project to support CASA Advocates for Children, “Creative for Kids” will also include an interactive pay-to-paint canvas and free drinks to all guests. Admission is free with funds to support the work of Advocates for Children raised through both a silent auction and an auctioneer-led bidding for terrific works of art donated by local and national artists. The Young Philanthropist Project (YPP) is an organization of young adults in their twenties who have joined together to support Advocates for Children, the CASA program that serves abused and neglected children in the 18th Judicial District. YPP seeks to build awareness of CASA while creating events that offer opportunities for young adults to have fun, network, and give back to their community in whatever ways best suit their goals and resources. New donations or increased donations from previous supporters will be matched by a generous challenge grant from the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado. For more information about YPP and how you can get involved, call Kami Welch at 303-241-1324 or visit their web site at www.yppcolorado.org.
