What is a Court Appointed Special Advocate?
A CASA is a volunteer from the community who wants to help find a safe, permanent, nurturing home for a child who has been a victim of abuse or neglect. CASAs get to know the child and report back to Court with recommendations that assist the Judge in making the best decision possible for the child. CASAs aren't required to have a legal background to become a volunteer, but before becoming a CASA, they must undergo 30 hours of comprehensive training and background checks.
Advocates for Children serves over 800 kids each year in the 18th Judicial District including Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln Counties. We need you so we can serve every child victim of abuse and neglect.
